Baseball has been my passion since I can remember. I began playing at the age of 6 years old and continued my career through college. Along the way, I’ve been named All-Conference, All-State and All-American. I’ve also played for numerous conference championship teams. Growing up in Arkansas, I played high school baseball for the Conway Wampus Cats (1997 graduate).
Upon graduating high school, I continued my career with the perennial baseball powerhouse Connors State College, in Warner, OK. My success there provided an opportunity to play on a full scholarship at Northwestern State University, a NCAA Division 1 baseball team in Natchitoches, LA, where we won two Southland Conference championships. During my college years, I spent three summers playing for the Hays Larks of the Jayhawk League. Two of those years our team finished runner-up in the NBC World Series (2000 & 2001). I was named to the All-American team in 2000.
While in college, I coached at numerous baseball camps where we taught kids the fundamentals of baseball. After college, I started teaching private lessons for kids who wanted to improve their skills. In 2009, I moved to Irvine, California for my job and began teaching private lessons on the side. In 2016, my wife and I decided to move to Conway, where I now teach baseball and softball lessons on a full time basis.
My wife, Mariana, and I live in Conway. We welcomed our daughter, Catalina, in May 2016. In addition to teaching lessons, I own Barham’s Ozark Beef, a farm-to-table beef company. My community involvement includes being a member at First United Methodist Church, a member and past president of Conway Noon Rotary Club, and a member of the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce.
